God’s Day in Eternity

“God’s Day in Eternity“ are three successive sequences, which for a quicker finding are listed here:

The real Sanctuary

The Book of Revelation, the completion of the Bible and the history of the world, is a book with images and symbols which reaches even into the future. In the Book of Revelation the Sanctuary and its Holy Objects are also described directly or indirectly, and this shows that they are still valid in their symbolical teachings and important for us today:

  1. In this Book Christ appears as High Priest (s. Rev 1:13-14),
  2. and as a Lamb being sacrificed (s. Rev 5:6),
  3. the water of life is portrayed (s. Rev 22:1)
  4. and the 7 golden lampstands (s. Rev 1:12),
  5. the 12 tribes, once represented by 12 loaves of bread (s. Rev 7,4:8; 21:12),
  6. the altar of incense with the prayers (s. Rev 8:3-4),
  7. and finally the Ark of the Covenant in the heavenly Temple (s. Rev 11:19),
whose unchanged commandments are kept by the true believers (s. Rev 14:12).

The true Sanctuary is in Heaven, it is Heaven itself. The true Most Holy Place will be on earth. The length, width, and height of the Most Holy Place were equal, and it held the Ark of the Covenant as the symbolic throne of God. (s. 1Ki 6:19-20). The same is true of the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of God, which will come down to the newly created earth at the end: Its length, width and height are equal, too, and the throne of God will be in it. (s. Rev 21:16,23; 22:1). This city is the implementation of the Most Holy Place!

God makes his Sanctuary on the new earth come true, then He makes his dream come true: For as the appearance of the Ark of the Covenant symbolically united God with angels and men, so on the new earth God will dwell together with the redeemed and the angels. Then it will become a visible reality of our worship today when we celebrate every Sabbath together with the invisible angels before our invisibly present God.

Yes, the time will come – very soon – when God’s most ardent desire will be visibly fulfilled, when we will be with Him – for all eternity. God’s Mystery will find its conclusion when all believers on earth and in heaven are united with Him as his family – it will be an everlasting Sabbath.

Glimpses of the Eternity in God’s Word

In the last year of the king, I saw the Lord sitting on a high and lofty throne, and the hem of his robe filled the temple. Angels were standing above Him, and they called to each other, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts! The whole earth is filled with his glory.“ (i. Is 6:1-3)

And as I looked, thrones were set up and the Ancient One sat down. His garment was as white as snow and the hair of his head was as white as pure wool. Light came from Him like bright streams of fire. Thousands and thousands served Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood in front of Him.

There in the clouds of heaven came One like a Son of Man. He came to the Ancient One, and He was presented to Him. He was given dominion and glory and the kingdom. His reign is an everlasting reign, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom will never be destroyed. The faithful believers of the Most High will receive the kingdom, and they will possess it forever and ever, even for all eternity. (i. Dan 7:9-18)

And I saw One coming down from heaven like a mighty angel. The rainbow was over his head, and his face shone like the sun. He set his right foot on the sea and his left on the land. And He whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven and He swore an oath by the One who lives forever and ever, who has created heaven, earth and the sea and everything in it, and He said, “In the day when the seventh angel will blow the trumpet, the Mystery of God will be completed, as He has announced this Good News to his own prophets.“ (i. Rev 10:1-7)

And the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And I heard mighty voices in heaven calling, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.“

There God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the Ark of his Covenant in his temple was seen and understood. (i. Rev 11:15-19)

And I heard loud voices in heaven which sounded like the voice of a large crowd, praising, “Hallelujah! Praise God, for the Lord our God, the Almighty, has become king. Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory; for the time of the marriage of the Lamb has come.“

“Happy and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.“ (i. Rev 19:6-9)

And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and they will see Him coming with power and with great glory on the clouds of the sky. He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. – And the Redeemed came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (i. Mt 24:30-31; Rev 20:4)

And I saw a great multitude which no one could count, from all countries and peoples. They were standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and they praised with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!“

All the angels were standing around the throne with the four cherubim angels, and they worshiped God, saying, “Indeed, praise and glory, wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might belong to our God for all eternity! Amen.“ (i. Rev 7:9-12)

And after those thousand years, I saw a great white throne, and from the presence of the One who sat on it, fled the earth and the heaven. (i. Rev 20:7,11)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was gone. And the holy city, the New Jerusalem, came down from God out of heaven like an adorned bride. And I heard a mighty voice from the throne say, “See, this is the dwelling place of God among men, He will live with them, and they will be his people, and God himself, their very own God, will be with them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will no longer be death, nor sorrow, nor pain, since the first world has passed away.”

And God, who sits on the throne said, “See, I am making everything new. It is done. I will give to the one who thirsts freely from the fountain of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my true child.“

And an angel showed me the holy city. It had the glory of God and its brilliance was like a very costly precious stone, like a crystal-clear jasper. At its twelve gates were twelve angels, and on the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. The city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. The city is laid out as a square, its length and width and height are equal. Its wall was made of jasper, and the city itself was of pure gold, like clear glass. The foundation stones of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones and its twelve gates were twelve pearls.

I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

Then the angel showed me the stream of the water of life sparkling like a crystal, it is coming forth from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle above the stream was standing the tree of life, being rooted with its roots on both sides of the stream. Twelve times, each month, it bears its fruits, and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

The royal seat of God and of the Lamb will be in the city and his redeemed servants will see his face. There will no longer be any night, and they do not need the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, since the Lord God will illumine them, and they will reign forever and ever. (i. Rev 21:1-25; 22:1-5)

Und Jesus sagte zu mir:

“These words are faithful and true. See, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me to reward every one for his works. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the beginning and end, the completion. Happy are all those who clean their robes, so that they will partake in the tree of life and enter by the gates into the city!

  I, Jesus,

have sent my angel to testify to you these things. I am the root and the stem of David, and the bright morning star.

And the Holy Spirit and the Church as the Bride say, 'Come,' and let him who hears call too, ‘Come!’ And whoever is thirsty, let him come! Let the one who wishes drink freely of the water of life!

He who testifies to these things says,

Surely, I am coming soon.“

“Yes, come, Lord Jesus!“

’The grace and goodness of our Lord Jesus be with you all!’

(i. Revelation 22:6,12-21)

God’s Day as a Testimony

It is amazing what kind of meaning and connections can be found in the creation, in the commandments and in the Sanctuary, so that they can be formed into a lampstand, whose center and summit is the seventh Day. With no other day can this order and such a lampstand be created.

God has given to us the seventh Day as a present because of love. This Day reveals God’s character and how He longs for us. God wants to be close to us, to dwell among us and live with us. He wants to enter into a covenant with us. And through this Day He wants to remind us that He as the Creator is our Father and that we are his children, and that we as his children have an incredible value in his eyes which no one can take away from us. Of this the seventh Day is his covenant sign, his seal. With this Day God does not want to impose a heavy load on us or prove his power. It’s the opposite. He wants to relieve us of our burdens and give us peace and rest. Most of all He can show us: He appreciates and respects us so much that He sees us as his covenant partners, whom He loves. If we are witnesses by conveying to others what this Day means and what it reveals about God, then it becomes a Day of love, a monument of God's love.

May this knowledge help to reveal God's appreciation and respect for people and become visible by our loving attitude and nature. May these pages also be a small testimony and a little golden lampstand – a testimony of the surprising treasures in God’s Word and a lampstand that brings to light the beauty of the seventh Day and the miracle of love.

May the light of God's love as revealed in his seventh Day and expressed to perfection in Jesus shine out into the world and attract people to our Creator. And may this Day light up our way, until we experience God's Day in eternity – when we are visibly united with our God ... as a family.

Until then, the deep meaning of the seventh Day is manifested in the words God says to you,

“I have always loved you,
therefore I have drawn you to me with all my loving kindness.“

(i. Jeremiah 31:3)
