Poetry in the Scriptures

Glad Tidings set us free

The Love God has to us
we have known and believed.
Through this Love He reached his goal
to free us from the fear
we had of Him and of the judgement.
Now we look with a fearless and free heart
into the future.

Therefore I stand with a joyful conviction
by the Glad Tidings,
since through them God has the power
to heal and free for salvation everyone
For the Glad Tidings reveal
that God is faithful, good and acts rightfully,
his character is shown in the right way.
And everyone who believes it
will trust Him deeply.

Thus it is shown to be true that a man,
who has a right relationship with God
will also live his life by trusting in Him.

Songs of
Lovingkindness and Faithfulness

The Lord sends me his lovingkindness in the daytime,
and his song is with me in the night,
as well my prayer to the God of my life.

Yes, Lord, send your light and your truth,
let them guide me in my life,
let them bring me to You.
You, o God, You are my King.
With the glory of your love set out
for the cause of truth, faithfulness and meekness.
With my song I will make known your name
and your character through all ages.

Our God is our refuge, He is our strength.
In every need He is always to be found as a strong Helper.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should quake
and the mountains tumble into the sea,
for the Lord of the heavenly hosts is with us.
Yes, sing praises to our God. For He is the Ruler of all the earth!

Lord, we have pondered your lovingkindness.
As your Name so your praise goes out to the ends of the earth.
Why should I fear in times of difficulties and hardships?
Even if we pass through the valley of tears
it will become a place with springs of blessings.
For happy and blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Lovingkindness and truth have met together,
righteous faithfulness and peace have kissed each other.
From the earth his truth came up,
out of heaven his righteous faithfulness became visible.
For the Lord our God will give to us what is good.

Love will abide

Thus says the Eternal One,
”I have always loved you.
”Therefore I have drawn you
with all of my lovingkindness.“

His Love is so strong,
that even death cannot defeat it.
Unyielding even beyond the grave
is the power of his complete Devotion.

Since God demonstrates
his Love for us in that
while we were still faithless sinners,
Christ did die for us.

Love is from God.
And we have come to know
and believed the Love,
which God has for us.
God is Love.

And He in his Love is patient and kind
and from the bottom of his heart
good and generous,
is not selfish or provoked,
not embittered or resentful,
bears all things, believes unshakably,
hopes unshakably, endures all things,
for his love never ceases.
Everything which is partial,

But his Love abides.
